It might help a trailer tongue section last longer if you place a piece of tire over it like I did on the vise in this blog.

Lawn division to planted flower border area strip
That strip of old tire would make an excellent border between the grass and where the flowers are planted! You could hit it with the yard trimmer and it wouldn't ruin it! If you went over it with the lawn mower it would likely ruin the lawn mower! It would never crack in the way that plastic does! There are ways it could be trimmed so that it anchors well into the soil. And it could be placed in the ground in such a way that it could not be distinguished from what that is dedicated for sale as that in the store. © 2022 Thomas Murphy
